Services for Disabled Students

The Equality Act 2010 defines a disabled person as ‘someone who has a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities’. This includes mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, neurodevelopmental conditions, such as ADHD and autism, and long-standing illnesses, such as cancer or diabetes.

Our experienced disability advisors support over 17% of our student population who have disclosed a disability or additional learning requirements. They offer confidential advice and guidance on all disability related issues in relation to accessing your chosen course of study, applying for funding and referring disabled students to other services that can offer tailored support.
