Welcome to our Special Educational Needs (SEND) Support page. We are dedicated to ensuring that all children and young people with special educational needs receive the support and resources they require to thrive in their educational journey.

How to Request SEND Support

If you believe that your child may need additional support at school, you can request SEND support by following these steps:

  1. Initial Contact: Begin by speaking with your child’s teacher or school SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). They can provide guidance on the types of support available and help you understand the process.
  2. Complete a Request Form: Download and complete our SEND Support Request Form. Ensure you provide detailed information about your child’s needs and the support they require.
  3. Submit the Form: Send your completed form to us via email at contact@yourcouncil.gov.uk.
  4. Review and Assessment: Once received, our SEND team will review your request. We may contact you for additional information or to arrange an assessment to better understand your child’s needs.
  5. Support Plan: Based on the assessment, we will work with you and your child’s school to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), outlining the specific support and services your child will receive.
